Impressive Infrastructure
The festival infrastructure showed significant improvements – the dusty air and primitive portable toilets are now forgotten memories. The stages looked better, and even the installed container toilets fit seamlessly into the festival's aesthetic as design elements.
Stay Hydrated
Hydration was well-managed with numerous water points placed throughout the festival grounds, essentially at every major stage. This thoughtful planning ensured that attendees could stay refreshed even during the hottest days.
International Atmosphere
The truly international crowd created a unique multicultural atmosphere where dozens of languages could be heard across the island, making it feel like a temporary global village in the heart of Budapest.
Fishing on Orfű 2024: The Grand Opening
The moment gates opened, the entire crowd surged forward – perhaps never before had so many people attended the opening. Approaching the lake, we noticed an enormous line. The first group had arrived from Budapest with about 15 people, marking their third consecutive year as first in line. The incredible number of enthusiasts formed a queue almost one kilometer long just to enter the festival grounds on time.
Fishing on Orfű: Weather Challenges
This year's weather more closely resembled the multi-year pattern – two evenings of serious rain soaked festival-goers, who in return trudged through mud. The Garden of Delights main stage audience persevered through the Elefánt concert despite the downpour, some in rain gear, others completely drenched. Sliding became a universal sport as mud-covered yet cheerful young people could be seen everywhere.
STRAND Festival 2024: The Scene
STRAND Festival turned Zamárdi into a vibrant celebration across 25 venues with nearly 200 programs on Lake Balaton's most scenic beach. One of the main attractions was Azahriah, who headlined the MOL Main Stage on August 24 – the only Azahriah concert at Lake Balaton after July 6. In 2023, attendance records were broken on his performance day, temporarily paralyzing traffic in the city.
